Pull up a stump and join us around the campfire for some interesting and informative discussion all about camping and outdoor equipment. Camping is an enormous subject and covers many modes of travel, different shelters, specialized clothing and foot wear, as well as some serious first aid and survival skills.
We will talk about back packing, horse, mule, and llama packing, and 4 seasons of camping out. We’ll look at tents and RVs for different uses and types of camping, food and menus, cooking methods and utensils, and clothing appropriate to different seasons and methods of camping. There are the obvious different needs and some things not so obvious. Wilderness trips, car camping, state parks, organized campgrounds, making your own campsite. National and state rules and requirements for visitors, ways to keep your visit low impact on the land, and the list goes on.
Camping has a different purpose for different people. It can be a means to enjoy nature, or a way to get deep into the woods to facilitate activities like photography, fishing, sightseeing, hiking, hunting, or just relaxing, to name a few. You may have a perspective of your own, that you are particularly attached to, we will hopefully cover that too.
